Education and Experience

SongGraphics is owned and operated by Wayne Yankie, who holds a Bachelor's degree in music composition from Baylor University. He also has many hours training in applied piano, with experience playing trumpet in concert band and church orchestra.

For over 25 years, Wayne has provided music engraving, transcription, and related services for publishers in the Nashville area and elsewhere. He has years of experience with full-scale musicals, choir and orchestra pieces, piano/vocal/guitar books, children's music, lead lines and more.

Wayne has worked with music publishers such as Word Music, LifeWay, and most recently Hal Leonard to name a few. For more than four years he was employed by Shawnee Press Nashville as editor of consumer music publications.

Currently, he provides professional music typeset for Hal Leonard’s The Real Book series as well as that company’s publication of Broadway musicals such as Rocky, Aladdin and An American in Paris. He also currently transcribes praise and worship songs for LifeWay, and occasionally collaborates with writer/arranger/producer Philip Keveren.

Additionally, Wayne's music has been published through both Word Music and Hal Leonard.
